FAQ

What time are your sessions?

Most sessions take place within the two hours before sunset when the light is soft, warm, and most flattering.

If you are a morning person, talk to me about an early morning session time!

For families with small children, an early morning session can sometimes be a better fit or we can plan for a time of year when the sun sets earlier.

What’s the best time to schedule a baby session?

Your baby will be the sleepiest during their first week home, which makes those curled-up, newborn poses possible.

As your baby grows older, sessions become more about capturing their tiny features, growing personality, and the connection they share with family.

How should we dress for our family session?

Pinterest is a great place to start for outfit inspiration! Choose colors that compliment each other rather than match. Pieces with movement photograph well, like flowy dresses or skirts, but if that's not your style, layers like a blazer or sweater work beautifully, too.

Wear something that feels like you, just a bit more elevated than your everyday look. Add a few accessories, clean up those shoes or go barefoot if you're by the water!

And don't hesitate to bring your dog, your guitar, or a favorite book or stuffy!

A FEW THINGS TO AVOID: Skip pieces with noticeable logos or graphics, and neon colors.

What if someone in my family doesn't love being in front of the camera?

That's completely normal! I am here to gently guide you throughout the session with simple prompts to help you connect naturally, like holding your partner's hand or twirling your child around.

If you have older kids, a little pre-session bribery never hurts. ;) After a few minutes, I find most people relax, start laughing, and end up enjoying this time together as a family.
